Instructors
Emma Kelly

Emma instructs both Yoga and Pilates classes, guiding the changes that people seek. As a highly qualified instructor and an ex-elite level athlete, Emma is able to deliver a class that is tailored to the individual or group’s needs and focuses on both the physical and mental demands of the session.
Emma has competed in swimming to a high level, winning medals at international meets. She also volunteers with Childline as a counsellor; dares to adventure – has sailed across oceans and worked as a teacher in the Himalayas; appreciates humour; and loves colour and design, spending time renovating her home and garden!
“I am curious about how humans function physically, mentally and emotionally and I am drawn to teach what I’ve learnt. Little by little, block by block I have stacked skills and learning - from a base in communication and teaching, through applied and theoretical physical and mental sciences - to a point where I can work with the whole person: mind and body. I am conscious that everyone lives and grows through experiences and contexts unique to them. Each person has their own way of viewing the world and this they hold and express in their own way of thinking and moving. Through mindful movement, it is my intention to bring people to a better understanding of self and their way of being in the world, to better serve themselves and others… but only should they wish to go that far. It is a life’s work!”

Anna’s Yoga Class Description:
I qualified as a Siromani yoga teacher at a Sivananda Yoga Ashram. I specialise in Hatha and Ashtanga, and in teaching I alternate between a slow and meditative style, and dynamic and fast-paced one, depending on the participants’ request. When time allows, I incorporate breathing exercises (pranayama) and meditation. During the whole class, I emphasise alignment, breath, and mindfulness while working on strength and flexibility. I finish each class with deep relaxation.
