Sunday 18th June.  The All England Lawn Tennis Club Community Sports Ground was delighted to host one of the many ‘Great Get Together’ events seen around the country in the summer to celebrate the life and memory of MP Jo Cox.

The Community Sports Ground invited local residents and neighbours to visit the centre to get together over cups of tea and coffee and delicious cakes in celebration of Jo’s strong community belief that we far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us.

Throughout the morning, which saw the sun shone, around 120 residents dropped into the Centre for the social gathering chatting to new and old friends. Mini-tennis nets were set up and rackets provided to some fun entertainment and the community showed its competitive edge!

It was a wonderful opportunity to meet neighbours and members of the community, many of whom had not visited the Centre before or seen the newly opened facility.
